Kuwaiti Donors Support Relief Project

Since the war has started in Syria, many households have suffered extensive humanitarian and financial difficulties that markedly affected their living circumstances. The situation has called on many parties to intervene and support the Syrian people against the repercussions of a protracted conflict to alleviate some of the humanitarian misery.

“Urgent Relief” project

Through the collaborative work between “Beyaz Eller Organization” and brothers in Al Rahma International Organization, Kuwait, our organization has received financial and in-kind donations from a number of “Kuwaiti Contributors” to support the neediest individuals and households in “Bar Ilyas”, Reyhaniye, a borderline city between Syria and Turkey.

As a merciless winter approach under the ‎scourge of a continuous war, the need aroused to distribute different types of relief, including financial assistance to 311 beneficiaries, 265 food baskets that suffice a five member family needs throughout one month, as well as winter supplies- 530 blankets and 265 firewood packs. The distributed assistance supported food and living necessities that breadwinners could hardly afford for the targeted households.

Displacement and Suffering

During distribution rounds, a lady, 40, spoke to our team:

“We moved from our homeland after the arbitrary shelling has intensified leading to the death of my husband. We sought safety in Reyhaniye city but life inside tents gets really hard in winter. Heating is very expensive. Adding.. Because the financial situation keeps worsening as I fail to obtain work, I try to warm my children in winter by setting up fire of any remnants and leftovers that people throw on road sides.”
