White Hearts and Hands Distribute Iftar Meals

Ramadan advances this year as the Syrians suffer from displacement in various areas as a result of the war and poor conditions in their cities, which has made it more difficult to provide food that sustains their bodies. Many of the displaced families fast Ramadan in unsuitable conditions. The main hope of Syrians, who are known for their rites of Ramadan, has become to reunite the family albeit to a small amount of food. This has led to an urgent need to provide food both to residents of host communities and to displaced persons in these areas.

Implementation mechanism:

“Beyaz Eller Organization” works to improve daily humanitarian conditions of Syrian citizens in the battered areas to alleviate the long-lasting problems driven by the war. This is what happened recently, as the "White Hearts Association" in Egypt provided funding for “Beyaz Eller” to distribute 3,710 Iftar meals to poor families in Syria.

Different areas

These meals were distributed in northern Syria and Idlib countryside, particularly Sarmada and Attmah where people have suffered many social and humanitarian problems since the beginning of the war in Syria.

Stories of suffering

An old man tells us:

Among the beneficiaries is a 30-year-old man

“ The meal that I get saves me the attempt to ask charity to get food in Ramadan, especially after I lost my son and daughter in the recent military operations”

who tries to support his family after the death of his father and mother, and is forced to work in many professions in order to sustain his brothers and earn the minimum income for a decent life.

One of the women, who works to support her family of four after the father's death says:

“ The excessive increase in prices prevents us from securing a meal that we will miss after fasting the whole day.” She says: “People are at Allah’s mercy. There are families whose fasting continues for two or three days.”

“Beyaz Eller” provide support

“Beyaz Eller" has supported hundreds of Syrian families since the outbreak of the war, and is constantly studying the cases that are referred in order to identify those most in need, and thus provide them with everything they need according to the geographical area and the most important needs, whether food or drink or even supplies for schools and tools for everyday life.
