Warmth 5 Campaign

دفء 5

In Syria: Cold without Doors.

Nothing is crueller than a winter storm dumping rain and snow over a nylon tent that barely prevents water from coming inside and never brings warmth or safety to the displaced inhabitants. Yet, some IDPs have not afforded a tent to protect their families and children from the nearing winter.

For seven years, Syrian IDPs have endured a crisis of repeated deportation and bitter hardship. Despite their continued search for means to protect families and children against winter, many fail to afford the least of shelter, clothing, and heating necessities; such supplies that challenge the finance of international organizations, much more individual civilians amid war.

According to recent UN statistics, the rate of internal displacement continues to rise, reaching 6,150 individuals per day. Poverty has extended to 85 percent of the population, of whom 35 percent suffer from dire misery. While the war has forced 4.8 million to flee their country, 6.3 million are internally displaced. It became of urgent necessity to provide basic assistance before another humanitarian crisis occurs.

In response, Beyaz Eller has launched its fifth campaign “Warmth 5” to extend help and alleviate the suffering of IDPs in the neediest areas. Our campaign includes a provision of heating fuel ($100 in reachable and 150$ besieged areas), heaters ($35), winter clothing ($25 in reachable areas and $35 in besieged ones), in addition to shelter supplies ($25- for one blanket, mattress, and pillow).

We call upon everyone to participate in alleviating the suffering of displaced and refugee Syrians. They are in dire need of the simplest assistance that helps them stay alive.
