‘Relieving Madaya’ Project- Winter 2016

Madaya city suffers a strangled siege and severe shortage of food supplies. Available food products are rare and sold at grotesque prices that far surpass residents’ purchasing ability.

Many diseases have spread among Madaya children especially after the crisis peaked in 2015; the siege reached its worst levels and longest periods.
Media channels and networks reflected upon the dire humanitarian conditions and many international association called for supporting the city.

Beyaz Eller team noticed the rise of malnutrition cases among Madaya children, which was also reported by local health centers that stressed the lack of protein, sugary and carbohydrate food sources.

In response, Beyaz Eller provided 12 food baskets to besieged families and 28 kgs of milk for babies suffering malnutrition (1/4 kg per baby). Each basket contained basic food staples that every family needs.

Madaya Relief Project 2016 benefited 12 families and 112 malnourished babies who would need sustainable support and aid.
