Education Program

Throughout a six-year war, 3,800 Syrian schools were set to ground, while the rest are used as shelter to thousands of locally displaced families. The conflict has terminated education of 80% of Syrian children, whose number reached 4 million outside Syria.

Also, systematic attacks on Syrian schools led to arresting 1,300 and killing 640 members of Syria’s educational cadre- according to the Syrian Network for Human Rights. As a result, teachers fled the country, schools shut its doors, and an entire generation is subject to forced labor, abuse, and ignorance.

Our Education Program aims at averting these catastrophic consequences. Education means a life; a life in which children dreams of peace and rehabilitation can be realized, and the potential to success and self-fulfillment is more possible. It is a prerequisite to rebuilding Syria and making it a livable country for millions who would, otherwise, seek refuge and, yet, remain in desperate need for assistance.

We offer two means to avoid this:

  • Student Sponsorship

We help students overcome financial hindrances to education, alleviate their psychological pressures, and empower them to become an educated and awaked generation.

Whether inside Syria or in refugee camps, we offer financial assistance, stationary, school bags, and books. In 2015, the number of our sponsored students reached 4,467 children.

  • School Restoration and Sponsorship Projects

In 2015, we restored fourteen schools in Aleppo, Idlib and Damascus. Besides restoring destroyed buildings, we fixed electricity and foundries networks. We painted walls, fixed flours, furnished classes and offices and supplied schools with devices and installments for an effective educational process. Our sponsorship project included paying salaries of 217 teachers as well administrative and service staffs. We also supply heaters and heating oil to encourage students attend to school.

But we still are unable to reach every child and school.

Your donation will increase our ability and reach. No matter how much you give, your money can sponsor a child, pay a teacher, prepare a class, buy stationary, and much more.

You can help make Syria a livable place, by supporting Syrian schools to continue offering education for the upcoming generations.
