Food Baskets in Aleppo and its Countryside

Food Baskets in Aleppo and its Countryside

The intensified shelling and Russian-backed airstrikes on Aleppo have cut off the city from the external world and threatened 300,000 in liberated regions with a renewed humanitarian crisis. Aid supplies have not reached the city for weeks and the corresponding increase in prices reached 70% in potatoes and 63% in sugar- not to mention flour and rice. As a result, Beyaz Eller is concerned more than ever with stocking the city before the intended encirculation of the liberated areas is completed. The institution, in coordination with Abdullah Al-nouri Association, distributed 300 food baskets to afflicted families in the city and its countryside. The project benefited 1,500 individuals of those most vulnerable to food insecurity. It came under Beyaz Eller Food Security and Livelihood Program that aims at alleviating humanitarian suffering and enabling a sustainable livelihood for those trapped in the ongoing conflict.
