This project spanned 48 months continuously, involving the distribution of General food assistance (baskets) and nutritional supplements.

Additionally, awareness and protection sessions were provided to internally displaced persons and local communities on issues such as protection against sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), gender-based violence (GBV), women's rights, prevention of cholera, and campaigns to measure malnutrition in children.

The White Hands Association in cooperation with the World Food Program (WFP) to fulfill its humanitarian goals and ensure the delivery of assistance to those in greater need.

Project Details

  1. Food Baskets: Over 1,085,796 food baskets were distributed to needy families, serving as a sustainable source of proper nutrition, promoting health, and strengthening physical resistance.
  2. Child Health Improvement: Continuous support was provided to 19,617 children in targeted areas, offering 7,062,120 nutritional supplements to enhance their health and ensure proper growth. Providing nutritional supplements for children has had a significant positive impact on their health. This support has strengthened the immune system and prevented diseases, leading to an overall improvement in the health of children.
  3. Ensuring Bread Needs: The need for bread is a fundamental part of family life. As part of the Food Security and Livelihood project, we distributed 12,876,000 bread bundles to beneficiary families. These efforts aimed to provide a primary source of food, creating a journey of warmth and security with every loaf.

Bread holds a significant place in the daily food system, and these bundles carry not only high nutritional value but also sustainable security for the beneficiary families.  White Hands was able to ensure the regular availability of bread to meet essential food needs.

Our Impact on the Community

The White Hands Association had a significant positive impact on the targeted communities through the food security and livelihood project through the assistance provided by the WFP program. By serving 94,333 families, WH brought about a real transformation in their living conditions and provided a more stable environment.

Awareness and Protection

The project went beyond meeting basic needs, providing awareness and protection sessions to displaced persons and local communities. Efforts were made to reduce exploitation and sexual assault, raise awareness about women's rights, and combat gender-based violence.

Prevention and Assessment

Commitment to disease prevention was demonstrated through continuous campaigns to prevent cholera, providing necessary information and warnings to limit its spread and protect community health.

Monitoring Malnutrition

As part of our commitment to childcare, campaigns were conducted to measure malnutrition in children, and necessary measures were taken to address this health challenge.

Indirect Impact of the Project

By supporting food security, we successfully stimulated local employment opportunities and enhanced the economic independence of beneficiary families.

After a 48-month of continuous efforts and dedication by the White Hands Association in its comprehensive project in northern Syria, the project has been completed and suspended by the World Food Program (WFP) for various reasons, with insufficient funding being a significant factor.
