Distribution of cooked meals to the neediest families

Many needy Syrian families in besieged Eastern Ghouta suffer enormous difficulties on a daily basis. As we strive to alleviate the bad consequences of war, in an attempt to aid the neediest families, our focus is directed to implementing aid projects.

Project implementation: procedures and timeline

With the development of the war situation in Syria, many individuals and families were badly affected by the hard conditions of the country. To decrease the wide-spread suffering in these districts, “Beyaz Eller” used funds from “Al Najat Charity” to distribute hot meals to the needy families in besieged Eastern Ghouta. These meals included rice, meat, and bread. 1350 meals have been distributed as well as the same amount of bread bags. The assistance was distributed to the besieged families who have remained in shelters for more than three weeks.

The organization has been able to indicate the neediest families through studying the listed cases in prepared lists. Also, it provided and followed a detailed timeline for project implementation.

The affected families

One of those benefiting from the project is a 20 year old female who works as an Arabic teacher after she lost her husband who never saw his newborn baby.

Another is an old man suffering psychologically and physically after surviving an accident.

She is trying to get along and care for her child under difficult conditions and siege.

He relates: “ I was shopping in the market. On returning, I found the house had fallen on top of them. My wife was rescued from the rubble but I lost all my children.”

War has not only caused human losses but also changed the demography of the districts and the available jobs.

A farmer youth whose land was destroyed by the war relates that he now works in the field of goods transportation for merchants. The money he makes is not enough to sustain his family while his mother suffers from many diseases and malnutrition.

We continue together

We strive to aid the neediest individuals and families in Syria through redirecting aid flows from individuals and associations to continue supporting those under siege and other affected areas.
