Beyaz Eller Mr. Lotfy Al Sayed Orphans Issues age sponsorship

On 23/11/2016, the second conference on “Issues of Orphans in the Arab and Islamic World” has commenced in Khartoum in the presence of the First Vice-President of the Republic, Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih and participation of many relief organizations.

The conference sessions extended over a two-day program, in which ‘Beyaz Eller’ was represented by Middle-East Manager Mr. Lotfy Al Sayed.
In his paper, entitled “Revisiting Orphan Sponsorship Age”, Mr. Lotfy discussed the negative consequences of limiting orphan sponsorship to the age of 18 years.

He also urged participants to rethink the importance on Ijtihad on this issue, as means to ensure that decisions taken by relief associations- that work on orphan sponsorship- do not violate Islamic Sharia, in case they extended sponsorship assistance to beneficiaries older than 18 years.

Noteworthy that the paper of ‘Beyaz Eller’ gained approval by all conference participants.
