“Beyaz Eller” Runs “Warmth for the Besieged Areas” Campaign in Homs and Damascus Countryside

In 1436-2015, “Beyaz Eller” ran “Warmth for the Besieged Areas” Campaign in eastern Ghouta- Homs and Damascus countryside. Supported by “Humanitarian Relief Caravans Team”, the project included distributing food baskets, heaters, and heating oil to help afflicted families brave the winter storms that hit the two areas.

Accordingly, 100 food baskets were distributed in the eastern Ghouta, benefiting 600 individuals. In Homs, 200 blankets were distributed to 200 beneficiaries. Also, 1,125 individuals received 3,759 litres of mazut- 20 litres/family.

Also, the project involved the distribution of 15 heaters to 75 beneficiaries. The total number of beneficiaries reached 2,000 individuals.

Noteworthy, this project supported besieged citizens in Homs and Damascus countryside, by provision of food, clothing, and heating oil for impoverished and besieged households. In addition, it discouraged a new wave of displacement to warm areas. Meanwhile, it deepened notions of Islamic and humanitarian solidarity among Syrian beneficiaries.
