Displaced Syrian families desperately suffer the lack of financial and material resources to sustain livelihood. Part of their problem is cleanliness. Living in ruined houses, schools or simply on bare land, thousands of children and injured adults are subject to infectious diseases because of the unhealthy living conditions. As a preliminary step, Beyaz Eller- an authorized Syrian institution- undertook a project to distribute 10,000 toiletry bags on besieged families in Homs and Damascus. The project aimed at preserving health and wellness of displaced families, especially those of injured, wounded and diseased Syrians. Each pack included shampoo, toothpaste, soaps, toilet sheets, sponges, and other items.
This project was executed in May 2015, and came under Shelter and Non-alimentary Aid Program that aims at alleviating the suffering of displaced Syrians, preserving their human dignity, and enabling them a sustainable livelihood.
