Beyaz Eller Supplied 12,000 Displaced Families with Heating Sources

Direct Russian involvement into the Syrian war has worsened the humanitarian conditions of thousands of Syrians. The number of displaced families from Aleppo, Idlib, the Coast, Hama, Homs, rural Damascus and Dar’a soared after renewed aerial attacks. As winter cold waves approach, lives of many children and elderly are threatened, especially after reported death incidents last year. In addition, prices of local heating sources increased far from affordable to many displaced families, whose limited finances strain their lives in shelter.

In response, Beyaz Eller provided 12,000 families with necessary heating sources to sustain winter. Each family received 250 kilograms of coal and 220 liters of mazut. The project amounted to 20,000 KWD and reached 61,000 beneficiaries in the afflicted regions. This comes under Beyaz Eller’s Shelter and Non-alimentary Aid Program that aims at alleviating the suffering of displaced Syrians, preserving their human dignity and enabling them a sustainable livelihood.
