The Syrian conflict had a devastating effect on lives of millions of Syrian children. 1.2 million children have fled to neighbor countries while UN reports warn that a majority of them are involved in child-labor activities. Since children are the most vulnerable group to violence and extremism, Beyaz Eller emphasizes moral, educational, social, and psychological support that protects the next generation and promises a better future for the country.
Accordingly, in July 2015, Beyaz Eller approved a project to organize a football league in Istanbul and Mersin, in which teams of 200 Syrian children will contest. Over a year, the children will be trained by international football players, while preachers and psychological experts advise on their moral, social and religious concerns. The project will amount to $87,360. This comes under Beyaz Eller Protection and Sponsorship Program that concerns with (a) financial and psychological sponsorship of orphans, and (b) preacher sponsorship that emphasizes values of tolerance, peace and social integration.
