White Hands Association Joins High-Level “Syria Without Camps” Meeting in Idlib

Reinforcing its pivotal role in Northern Syria’s humanitarian landscape, White Hands Association participated in an extensive meeting held by the committee established under Presidential Decree No. (59) of 2026. The high-level session, held in Idlib, was dedicated to discussing the executive roadmap for the "Syria Without Camps" initiative.

The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Emergencies and Disasters, Mr. Raed Al Saleh, with the attendance of Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Mr. Ibrahim Olabi, and the Governor of Idlib, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Rahman. Representatives from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, along with several international and local organizations, were also present.

Field Expertise in Service of Sustainable Solutions

During the sessions, White Hands Association representatives presented a strategic vision rooted in years of hands-on experience in camp management and emergency relief. The Association emphasized that transitioning from "emergency relief" to "residential stability" requires a coordinated international and local effort led by organizations with deep-rooted expertise on the ground.

The discussions highlighted the Association’s successful track record in alternative housing projects and infrastructure rehabilitation. These achievements align perfectly with the committee's objectives: ensuring a "voluntary, safe, and dignified" return for displaced families to their original towns and villages.

Strategic Coordination for the Upcoming Phase The Association reaffirmed its full readiness to mobilize its logistical capabilities and technical expertise to support the committee’s goals. By accelerating return mechanisms and fostering sustainable living environments, White Hands Association aims to fulfill its ultimate mission: ending the suffering of those living in tents.

The meeting concluded with key recommendations to enhance joint coordination between government bodies and humanitarian organizations, ensuring the successful implementation of the "Syria Without Camps" initiative.
