According to UN statistics, around 841,000 Syrians suffer the depletion of vital life-saving resources. As violence extends to a sixth year, half the country’s pre-war population- i.e., 11 million people- have been killed or forced to flee their homes, while the remaining half strives to survive or make a new home abroad.
To help families overcome displacement pressures, Beyaz Eller distributed 5000 shelter packages (mattresses and blankets) in Homs and its countryside, and another 5000 in rural Damascus. The number of beneficiaries reached 10,000 families.
This came under Beyaz Eller’s Shelter and Non-alimentary Aid Program that aims at alleviating the suffering of displaced Syrians, preserving their human dignity and enabling them a sustainable livelihood.
