Job Application: PSS & CSG Team Leader

Purpose of the Role:

The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Psychosocial Support (PSS) activities in schools and communities, activating Community Support Groups (CSGs), and ensuring the provision of effective, integrated services that meet the needs of children and their families.

This role places a strong focus on managing referral processes and follow-up within schools, building the team’s and organization’s expertise in referrals and case management in line with protection and education standards.

Program Implementation
• Supervise the implementation of structured and unstructured PSS activities in
schools, child-friendly spaces, and community centers.
• Coordinate the formation and activation of CSGs and ensure their effective
participation in needs identification and activity implementation.
• Ensure that referral and follow-up processes are embedded in daily activities,
and that all referred cases are properly documented.
• Guarantee that activities are age-appropriate and address diverse psychosocial
needs, with particular attention to children and vulnerable groups.
2. Staff Supervision and Capacity Building
• Directly supervise the field team and ensure fair task distribution.
• Develop clear weekly/monthly work plans for the team.
• Organize training sessions for staff on topics such as Psychological First Aid
(PFA), referral pathways, case management principles, child protection, and
gender-based violence.
3. Coordination and Community Engagement
• Represent the team in meetings with schools, local councils, and partner
organizations.
• Coordinate with protection, education, and health teams to strengthen the
quality of referrals and exchange relevant information.
• Gather feedback from communities and beneficiaries to improve activities and
ensure contextual relevance.
4. Monitoring, Reporting & Accountability
• Follow up on all referrals to ensure beneficiaries receive the required services,
and maintain accurate records.
• Collect and analyze data on PSS activities and referrals, and produce regular
reports.
• Ensure that Complaints and Feedback Response Mechanisms (CFRM) are
functional and accessible .

Key Responsibilities

  1. University degree in psychology, social work, education, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in implementing PSS or protection activities in
    schools or communities.
  3. Practical knowledge and experience in referral and case management in the
    humanitarian context.
  4. Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse community
    groups.
  5. Fluency in Arabic and basic knowledge of English

Minimum Skills

  • Previous experience in Syria.
  • Prior training in Psychological First Aid, case management, or child protection.
  • Ability to use data collection tools and prepare reports.
