2,500 Food Baskets to al-Ma’damiya and Darya population

Starvation, again, threatens lives of 50,000 Syrians in al-Ma’damiya and Darya. The two cities in rural Damascus have suffered blockade for over two years. Local savings, food supplies, fuel and wheat quickly diminished. Although local citizens tried to cultivate some food basics, repeated water and electricity cuts, severe draught and blockade of life-saving food and agricultural ingredients, all aborted their effort. To save human lives in these areas, Beyaz Eller undertook a project to distribute 2,500 food baskets in September 2015. The Project reached 15,900 afflicted individuals at a cost of $252,610.

This came under Food Security and Livelihood Program that aims at alleviating the suffering of afflicted Syrian population, preserving their human dignity, and enabling them a sustainable livelihood.
