In continuation of Beyaz Eller\u2019s intensive efforts to relieve the Syrian inside and resolve food insecurity crisis, the Institution undertook a project to cultivate wheat on 30 hectares of land in favor of families in rural Aleppo, Idleb, and the Coast.<\/p>\n
The project had two objectives; first, to use the skills of internally displaced farmers in Aleppo, Idleb and the coast, employ their workforce and encourage food-sufficiency in these communities. Second, to encourage farmers maintaining land productivity and exploiting their vast experience in agriculture.<\/p>\n
Food Security and Livelihood Program has assumed 34% of Beyaz Eller\u2019s relief activities for the Syria nation. More recently, the Institution signed a contract to rent 423 hectares of land for wheat cultivation. <\/p>\n
The project sourced 1269 local workforce, three farmers for each hectare, as well as well water. It particularly maximized benefits for landlords who themselves work in farming. Also, the number of indirect beneficiaries reached 10,152 individuals in families of farmers and laborers. <\/p>\n
In this way, Beyaz Eller provided wheat at sufficient quantities and affordable prices, and broke the vicious circle of grotesque food prices and limited, usually smuggled, produce. Beyaz Eller\u2019s wheat projects invested in 530 hectares and reached millions of beneficiaries. Each hectare costed only $650. Our upcoming projects will continue to alleviate the pressuring dire conditions on Syrian families. <\/p>\n
