The Syrian crisis has led to one of the largest displacement waves in modern history. Several cities were completely depopulated while continued clashes force families into multiple moves. Homeless and hungry, bread became an increasingly unaffordable food for the majority of Syrians. As violence affects supply lines and damages local bakeries, people fleeing violence increase the demand on bread in their refugee areas. To stabilize bread prices in northern cities, Beyaz Eller distributed bread on 24,354 individuals in Aleppo, Idlib, Hama, the Coast and Homs for three months.<\/p>\n
The project amounted to over $740,000, and came under Beyaz Eller\u2019s Food Security and Livelihood Program that that aims at alleviating humanitarian suffering, preserving human dignity and enabling sustainable livelihood.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
